In today's world, there is a minefield of CCTV equipment all stating to be the best product on the market, unfortunately, that is not the case. We have all seen the high class jewelers and petrol station forecourt's on crime watch TV, showing such a poor image, you wonder why they have shown it in the first place.
Well, CCTV does not have to be like that, nor does it have to be overly expensive. If we use the correct camera for the given situation and record that image to a capable DVR (Digital Video Recorder), using industry standard installation skills, then you will end up with a system that works.
Camera technology has advanced greatly over the last few years. High resolution, colour pictures in scenes that only have a minimal amount of light is now possible. If you have received a quoation/specification for cameras with around 450TVL or less, do not accept it. Most cameras we install start at around 520/540TVL, we regularly install 600TVL cameras and if switching to a mono (black and white) image at night time, then this increases up to a massive 700TVL.
This does not mean a massive increase in the overall costs. Some competitors offer these budget cameras for the same cost as we offer decent specification, high resolution cameras - athough some offer these budget systems at a very low cost, but as always, you get what you pay for.
